About the Author

Dr. Jen Welter is the first female to coach in the NFL. In summer 2015, she served as a linebackers' coach for the Arizona Cardinals. She appears regularly as an NFL and sports analyst on NBC, ESPN, and the NFL Network and in national newspapers and other publications. Welter has become a regular empowerment and sports speaker, asked to stump for Hillary Clinton on the election trail in 2016, and sharing the stage at events with sports and political giants like Serena Williams and Condoleeza Rice at events across the country. ESPNW just named her one of the 25 most influential women in sport in 2015. Welter holds a doctorate degree in Psychology, a Master's in Sport Psychology, and a bachelor's degree from Boston College. She has 18 years of experience in fitness and as a professional athlete. Welter is a native of Vero Beach, Florida.

This life is not easy, in fact at times it is hard, but I believe there is greatness for each one of us out there. This was a hard book to write. There were so many stories I wanted to tell, and so many ways they could be told. One of the best complements I ever received came from Coach Williams, when I was playing on the Texas Revolution. He said, "Welter, if I could take the heart out of your chest, and put it in each one of these men, we would be undefeated." So, in this book you have a piece of my heart, and insights into my mind as well. I hope this book starts as a beginning, a catalyst for telling more great stories of the women in football, insight into how men can be amazing champions for women, as they have been for me, a challenge for you to live priceless and love your own brand of crazy, and of course permission to laugh a whole lot along the way.

I just finished reading Dr. Jen Welter's Play Big.Trailblazing passionate personable candor that is lived in the person of Dr Jen Welter. Does not really "grip" you into finishing it

When Bruce Arians hired Jen Welter for the Arizona Cardinals organization I was so proud of that decision, especially since I am an avid Cardinal fan and a woman who loves football. After Jen's entrance into the NFL, I began to follow her career with great interest. Now that I know the inside story from Jen's perspective I am even more proud and inspired. In this book, she does an amazing job of reaching out to people "where they live" and conveying a message of hope, perseverance, diversity and the benefits of sheer chutzpah. It is an easy and interesting read filled with depth, honesty, and insights from a master change-agent.

I absolutely love #PlayBig! The inspiration Dr. Welter left on notes to your Cardinals players is so heartwarming. It's a reminder that NFL players are literally putting their hearts and minds into the game they love. Thank goodness for the opportunity to coach and mentor these guys who pour everything they have. I also really enjoyed reading Dr. Welter's personal story on playing football with the men. She has handled so much adversity in your life! She even had to choose football over a relationship that just wasn't going to work out, but that shows her love and dedication to the game. Thanks for telling your story and encouraging me to play big in my own life, as I try to find out what that means for me. The tips in each chapter were made like the notes that she left each of the players. I actually needed the advice that she provided, and she has a wealth of information and life experiences to share with the American public. What a truly accomplished woman! She has truly broken the glass ceiling. Up next: Female NFL player. Any takers?

The cover of the book is great. The description did not provide any pictures of the inside pages. I expected the quality to be the same as the cover. The inside pages are black and white. They are photocopies of pictures. Many of the copies look like copies of copies.....not very clear. Some are OK. If I saw this in a bookstore and opened the book to see the insides I most likely would not have purchased.

I would have normally given a 5 star review for the Brain Games picture puzzles books for they have been a joy to work. However, this one was of lesser quality. The paper is not the nice thick glossy kind that make the colors brighter and they reused 19 photo puzzles from the original Remember When (no date on this picture puzzle book). I was very disappointed as I was looking forward to working another great puzzle book from them. I truly hope their next books go back to the other format and that they don't reuse any puzzles from former books.

Fun puzzles. Got for my mom who enjoys these types of books. She will write down the differences on separate paper and do these over, so I thought a new one might be fun. Much of what's in this "Remember When?" theme is familiar to her, so that was an added bonus. The paper is definitely different than the other one that she has (Christmas)... it's kind of a flat, matte paper as opposed to the glossy stuff that she's used to. I do wonder how that will effect seeing the pictures and spotting the differences. Because of the paper, the color doesn't seem as vibrant.

Love the fact that it is an adult brain game but the pictures are not clear. I understand these are '50's pictures but surely there is technology to make them a bit clearer, less grainy.

love the concept but I work with an older population with lots of visual deficits and most of these are too small or so subtle and unclear they are just too hard. the full page ones are better but still difficult. Considering it is from the '50's you'd hope they would accommodate people who may have failing eyesight.

I love these kinds of puzzles - the only problem with the retro ones is that sometimes the quality of the photographs makes them more difficult - especially black and white, but if you like the extra challenge, that could work for you.

Fantastic Find the Differences book. My son and I spend quality time together looking for what’s different. Sometimes we even race each other to see who can find the most first.

It was a great gift for my Father and his nostalgia for cars and the 50's he works on 2-3 each day and feels it keeps him young and brain active

But IF it is somehow new -- and, by the way, no translator is identified -- what exactly has been translated? What is new about it? It is still written in the difficult-to-understand Middle English Chaucer used, and apart from spelling (or misspelling?) "his" as "hise" in line-1 [see NOTE at end] and throwing in some extra commas, this is pretty much the standard version. It is handsomely formatted and has an active TOC, but no introduction, no clarifications of archaic words, nothing but the seemingly original Middle English text. Calling itself "the new translation" strongly suggests this has been translated into easier-to-understand Modern English, but such is not the case here. Chaucer certainly rates 5-stars, but I have deducted one for the misrepresentation.FYI: An excellent Modern English version will be found in the Kindle Store for $.99 by A. S. Kline.NOTE: The first line normally reads: "Whan that Aprill with his shoures soote...." The words "shoures" and "soote" are each two syllables in Middle English pronunciation; thus the entire line rightly has the number of accented syllables Chaucer intended. If "his" (a one-syllable word) were improperly changed to "hise" (turning it into a two-syllable word, pronounced his-uh) -- as is done here -- that adds an unintended and, therefore, unacceptable extra syllable. I have to assume this is merely a typo; but how many other such errors are contained herein?

If you are going to read The Canterbury Tales, this is the way to go. The Middle-English may seem intimidating at first, but it is easier than one might think to sound out and understand. Of course, the annotation helps quite a bit too. These tales and their frame perfectly capture medieval life with it's lively characters and various settings. Ranging from poetic diversions, to dramatic, to adventures, all the the way to gruesome fables, and plenty of very funny (and memorable) bawdy humor. This earthy group of classic stories has something for everyone. The modern translation is also worth having as a companion, but this fine paperback is the one for authenticity.

Let's get this clear at the start: This is a review of Jill Mann's edition of the Canterbury Tales in its Kindle version. (It's a shame that Amazon can't distinguish between different editions of the classics when posting reviews! -- hint!) About the Tales themselves, I'll say only that they are both a classic and a blast, and if you can handle the Middle English, you have to read them in that language. Jill Mann's editorial work is smart and thorough, too. The print edition is a bargain at the price -- again, if you're OK reading Middle English. The Kindle edition, though was a little clumsy to use -- though, to be fair, I don't see how all the glosses and notes could have been presented better in a e-book. Wait, yes I can. The glosses on individual words and expressions are easy to find; the more extensive notes, which are very valuable, are not. It shouldn't have been hard to add a marginal symbol to reference a Note. Hence it's only four stars, not five. But it may well be the best e-book version on the market.

Here is a brief synopsis.At the Tabard Inn, a tavern in Southwark, near London, the narrator joins a company of twenty-nine pilgrims. The pilgrims, like the narrator, are traveling to the shrine of the martyr Saint Thomas Becket in Canterbury. The narrator gives a descriptive account of twenty-seven of these pilgrims, including a Knight, Squire, Yeoman, Prioress, Monk, Friar, Merchant, Clerk, Man of Law, Franklin, Haberdasher, Carpenter, Weaver, Dyer, Tapestry-Weaver, Cook, Shipman, Physician, Wife, Parson, Plowman, Miller, Manciple, Reeve, Summoner, Pardoner, and Host. (He does not describe the Second Nun or the Nun’s Priest, although both characters appear later in the book.) The Host, whose name, we find out in the Prologue to the Cook’s Tale, is Harry Bailey, suggests that the group ride together and entertain one another with stories. He decides that each pilgrim will tell two stories on the way to Canterbury and two on the way back. Whomever he judges to be the best storyteller will receive a meal at Bailey’s tavern, courtesy of the other pilgrims.I won't go into detail about all the tales that are told except to say that I found them witty, entertaining, and thoughtful.

I honestly think there are better books out there for this subject matter. This book is seemingly a quick read. The tone of voice is as if you’re having a chat with a friend about the topic over a beer. There’s studies and other supporting information behind all of the claims, but it would have been better organized (I think) as a TED talk or research study.

Thoroughly researched and filled with great points. Knocked it one star because, after the first few chapters, it becomes incredibly redundant and it really drags. I could only read about Ford and 3M's same success stories so many times before I became saturated with it and couldn't take another dose. For the last few chapters, I read the first few pages and then went back to the chapter's "Take Away" section and still got everything I wanted out of the book. If an abridged version comes out, look into getting that one instead.

If you have the good to great I feel all info are just copy paste. But was enjoying to read it.

Ms. Teachout explains how the Supreme Court's ruling in Citizens United has accelerated our path towards a government catering only towards the rich.The author's book is academic in its delivery but avoids burdening the work with unnecessary ostentatious words. However, the book is constructed in a manner where it's important for the reader to carefully follow along with her presentation. The law professor walks you through our country's history of dealing with corruption in public institutions. It focuses on both the federal and state actions. 'Corruption in America' also shows how there is no clear-cut definition of corruption. She posits questions in the cases reviewed that left me stumped as to a resolution. The book covers such issues as who influenced the Founding Fathers' thinking when creating the Constitution, the laws constant struggles in dealing with what defines bribery and extortion, the concerns of the judiciary usurping the legislative role, lobbying, the spoils system, when are campaign contributions corrupt, the conservative's law and economic movement, the commitment to civic virtue, and the moral versus legal perspectives in addressing corruption. Much of what is addressed in the book are not black-and-white issues. The book concludes with suggestions by Ms. Teachout on how to get back on track in preventing our country from devolving into a plutocracy. The two Appendix chapters (Anticorruption Constitutional Provisions, Major Nineteenth- and Twentieth-Century Anticorruption Laws) were also helpful.'Corruption in America' is not a collection of stories about corruption. Ms. Teachout's work is about challenging the current conservative judges who view the First Amendment as the trump card in the Constitution. Our Founding Fathers were very concerned with corruption because of what they studied from history as well as what was occurring in England. More broadly, the question is raised as to whether a democracy can succeed with the influence of a few (corporations or individuals) being perfectly legal.Anyone wanting to reflect on the current state of legislative gridlock at the national level, and maybe other levels, or the majority losing out to a minority view or group, needs to read this book and brood over it for awhileWhat this book addresses affects us all and is worth the read.

My son loves Harry Potter and this is a great addition to his collection of books. He loves doing accents and now he can learn the meaning behind the “funny sounding” words like Knickerbokers and Budgies.

Like all of her book this is an approachable and fun book. Who knew there were so many things we were missing? Such a delight and great for any age!
