This is a fascinating book. It begins with the late-17th century textile mills in England and goes all the way up to the gargantuan factory in China that's producing Apple products. Taylor's time and efficiency studies are here along with their effects on factories. Labor relations figure largely in the book, Factory architecture is also discussed: for example, the English textile mills -- sometimes 7 or 8 stories high, with (steam) elevators, were precursors of the skyscrapers! Who knew?! One of the best things about the book is Freeman's comparisons: using what he's taught us about Ford to help is understand the Soviet factories, for example.

I was pretty excited to read this one, but ultimately was disappointed. A lot of the more interesting factoids about Ford and Lowell Massachusetts have been covered in other more interesting books. Another issue is that there weren't enough illustrations which I think are necessary to show the size and scale of the factories. The descriptions, while nicely detailed, just left me wanting to see more, which I had to do on my own via google. The final chapter about Foxconn was fairly disappointing. 'Factory Girls' by Leslie T Chang does a lot better job of showing what life is like for the workers in these Chinese factories.

Fascinating book and very well written. Freeman has a great depth of knowledge about the subject and presents his arguments lucidly. This isn't a book about factories per se, although how they worked from the earliest British spinning mills in the 18th century to what's (rather mysteriously)going on at today's gigantic plants like Foxconn City in China where iPhones are manufactured, are interesting reads in and of themselves. What makes the book larger than its subject (factories) is how those who labored in these locations impacted society as a whole, and in many cases, the reverse. Henry Ford's Highland Park plant, the first to use assembly line manufacturing in cranking out Model Ts, actively encouraged visitors, most entranced by this new technology; the physical plant was used to promote the product, the same for the later River Rouge plant that I found fascinating - coal, iron ore, limestone came in from Ford-owned mines on Ford-owned ships and railroads, coking ovens and blast furnaces made steel - and a textile mill and glass factory at the site other components of automobiles - engine blocks poured and bored, sheet steel stamped, parts cast, and all the self-manufactured components emerged from the assembly line as a completed automobile. Freeman then moves on to state-sponsored gigantism, notably what was built during Stalin's first five-year plan, only achieved with a large amount of U.S. (paid for) help, something I was totally unaware of, as I expect the reader will be as well. Stalin's industrialization was not hailed by the state as necessarily the wondrous products turned out, but as the victory of socialism. However, both capitalist and socialist factories suffered the same problem: Communist theoreticians had long attacked factories in the West as exploiters of the workers, done to maximize the profits that accrued to factory owners. These "excess profits" would also be achieved in the Soviet system, now - by some fast mental gymnastics - viewed as OK as these profits would be owned "by the people," not an argument bought by those laboring in the plants.Common to the establishment of all these factories from the beginning to the present was how to assemble the necessary labor pool to run the machines? In and of itself an interesting topic I will not belabor here. Again common to all this history is how was this labor pool controlled, kept on the job under often horrendous working conditions? Techniques varied from raw coercion to building mini "workers' paradises" with decent housing and other amenities at the job site. Almost always, the either harsh or "make nice" attempts failed, in the USA as seen by the rise in the labor union movement starting in the 1930s that prompted manufacturers after WWII to abandon the mega-plant concept and the movement toward smaller plants scattered about the country - almost always to non-union, lower wage scale states, a move, along with the build out of the interstate highway system under Eisenhower, that changed the face of American manufacturing. The change in Chinese manufacturing from Mao to the present - and the change in the ideological justification for same - alone justifies reading this book. As noted earlier, Ford was eager to have people visit his first factories and people enthusiastically responded; today, does anyone know - or care - where their iPhone or sneakers were made?

Enjoyed the book as a light introduction to the history and concept of the factory. Far from being merely an economic process, the author writes about how the factory has also been about changing society.

If you're interested in factories or the history of labor, this is a good book to check out. It's a little more slanted toward the latter, more about the sociological impact of the factory, less about the technical achievements. I haven't seen many books cover the topic of factories in this much depth. The chapter on the Soviet Union was probably the most interesting to me, and nothing I had any clue about before reading the book. I would have preferred it to cover the technical aspects of the factories a bit more, and also to have more text on current day factories. Given what I think the author's goals were, though, I would say he did a great job.

This is a monumental work on the history of the factory, beginning with early textile mills in Europe, and covering the sweep of American industrial development and power, including its phenomenal response to WWII production demands. However, the author completely ignores development in Upstate New York, especially Cohoes, often called the "true center of the Industrial Revolution in the U.S."

Good book that lives up to its name in terms of the amount of details. Obviously written by a professor of history, definitely with a left-leaning lens (you have “dirty hands” if you own Apple stock).Best sentence from the book (hard copy, first edition, pages 263-264): “As Goodyear, GM, Ford, GE, and other American corporations had learned decades earlier, large assemblages of workers who work together, live together, pray together, drink together, and die together can turn the largest, most important factories from models of efficiency into weapons of labor power.”

Excellent overview of the social and political impacts of large scale production in differening economic frameworks. Wanders a bit towards the end, but an important book

Jeremy Irons has a wonderful voice. It is a treat to hear him read Eliot. However, this Audible edition leaves something to be desired. There are 72 "chapters" listed but without poem titles! So, you have to listen to a snippet of each one to figure out which one is which and make a "contents page" for yourself. This is the sort of thing that happens when books become "products", sold by people who have no affinity for literature. Idiotic, especially considering that it would cost next to nothing to add a proper contents page to the audio-book. Irons originally read the poems for a BBC4 radio program. Their website lists the poems in order, but not the parts - for example, Chapter-21 of the audiobook begins "The Waste Land" with Part-1 i.e. "The Burial of the Dead"; Part-2 of "The Waste Land" is Chapter-22 i.e. "A Game of Chess" and so on. Unless you have your contents page handy it's annoying to cue any section or poem.

An excellent reading by Irons, as one would expect. My main quibble is with the selection of Poems, particularly (and only really) Disc 4. Of course most selections are what one would have expected and are no-brainers, but the overall quality of the selections would have been enhanced by substituting the excellent "Choruses from 'The Rock'" for the "Cats" poems. There is a reason the "Cats" poems were never included in "The Collected Poems" editions of Eliot's work, as he didn't consider them to be part of his real oeuvre which he cared to see preserved for posterity. They are only famous because of the dreadful and banal Lloyd Webber musical. Also, a quibble on format: Having seen the complaints from people who bought the "Audible" version, I don't understand why the discs aren't simply available for download as ordinary MP3 tracks, just as tracks from a regular musical CD would be, rather than in some single "Audible" file with unlabelled "chapter" contents making it difficult to navigate to what poem you want at any given time. I don't do "Audible" or audiobooks in general, so this is why I bought the CDs. That way I could just rip the tracks to my computer (and leave out the "Cats" stuff altogether, and a few other minor poems I don't care for) to put on my phone and iPod Classic, and could also edit the meta-data as desired (download services generally do a very poor job at this, so if you don't edit the data yourself, things end up being sorted in bizarre ways, making it difficult to find what you want in your audio library; things as simple as filing by last name of author/artist, rather than first).

Jeremy Irons provides wonderful nuance and delivery. Hearing T.S. Eliot's work is wonderful, because the scansion is complex and often requires re-reading certain lines to get it the way you think it probably should sound, were it read aloud. The actual recording here allows you to listen and enjoy sublime imagery Eliot put into The Wasteland and the Quartets. I like, too, that each poem is introduced with its title. I don't think anybody who loves the work of this poet could go wrong getting this! I listen to it over and over.

T.S. Eliot comes to life as never before. The poems that are superbly read on each of the four CDs are identified by name in a complete contents list.

This is an excellent collection of poems. The only real complaint I can think of is the contents table does not include names of poems in each chapter. The bookmark feature of audible can easily correct this. J Irons has a wonderful voice that carries the inflection and depth of emotion of the work flawlessly.

I have always liked reading Eliot. But this was a very different experience. It was like listening to a perfectly sung aria. The pauses were very dramatic.

Wow, is this a dramatic reading. Great.

FANTASTIC!

I lived in Puerto Rico for several months recently and used this guidebook along with the most recent Fodor's guide. I also looked at the Lonely Planet and Moon guides. For Puerto Rico at least, the Rough Guide is your best choice of these options. The Rough Guide series in general skews more towards the budget backpacking type trip. (I did not have any such budget limitations and am glad I also bought the Fodor's guide for some information on higher priced activities.) It also happens to offer the most interesting, off-the-beaten-path perspective of the options out there. This perspective will be useful if you've exhausted Old San Juan, Condado, and the Isla Verde section of the capital city. The book has great suggestions for the coasts and hits on a lot of good cheaper restaurants. These places are a must-eat and the Rough Guide can point you there. The Rough Guide also provides a lot of excellent coverage on the islands of Culebra and Vieques, as well as smaller islands around the main island. This area of coverage is where the Rough Guide succeeds and Fodor's places a distant second. I also appreciated that the Rough Guide gave substantial cultural and historical information about Puerto Rico, as well as discussed the Commonwealth's role as a jumping-off point for much of the Caribbean. The Virgin Islands, Dominican Republic, and Cuba (the book series appears written for a European audience), are all a quick plane ride away. The book is a little out of date. I found a number of small discrepancies between it and my experiences. One of the more serious ones is when we took a day trip from San Juan to the Arecibo observatory and interior part of the island. There was supposed to be a restaurant near the observatory that has since closed, leaving nothing in the area for food. The ATM was also "broken" (more like broken permanently) at the observatory. Fortunately we had cash, but wouldn't have known this thanks to the book. My advice would be to carry sufficient cash with you (Puerto Rico really isn't unsafe if you take reasonable precautions) for the day and not rely too heavily on the Rough Guide for essentials such as food and ATMs when outside of San Juan, especially in the more rural interior of the island. My main beef with this book, which I haven't seen in Rough Guide books on other locations, is the at-times snarky tone the writers took towards more expensive, but perhaps more time-efficient, options. For instance, when traveling from the main island to Vieques or Culebra, you can drive from San Juan, park your car in a lot, stand in line at an ungodly early hour, and then take a two hour ferry ride over to one of the smaller islands. With this travel option, you run the risk of not even getting a seat on the boat. This is the cheap option--very cheap. But it is really uncomfortable and time-consuming. Instead of presenting the values of flying from San Juan to the smaller islands (very fast and convenient), the authors merely disregarded the option as overpriced and for the tourist suckers. It is more expensive, sure, but ensures you get the most out of your time there. I didn't like this unbalanced attitude that the authors took through out their book. With that said, if you are going to Puerto Rico buy the Rough Guide. Buy the Fodor's book too if you want the full picture of your options. If you are taking a cruise stopping for a day in Old San Juan, check out the Rough Guide in a bookstore and make some notes: many of the book's strengths lie outside the metropolitan area, but the book covers a number of enjoyable restaurants, bars, shops, and sights in San Juan too. The Rough Guide provides more interesting, "local" activities you won't want to miss.

I hadn't tried a Rough Guide before, so I got the Lonely Planet Puerto Rico at the same time, in preparation for a 4-day trip to PR.It's scattered, very little unity, or structure, to the contents. Like they took snippets from a bunch of different travelogues, categorized them by geography (which is kind of silly, since PR is tiny), and stuck them in a book.I ended up taking the Lonely Planet book, and leaving this one at home.

Pretty good overview of the island that shows the genuine background of places, although a few areas were completely skirted— but not as superficial as many other guides out there that just do "Old San Juan - Rain Forest - Beach - zipline" =there's so much more to this medium sized island with a complex history and diverse present day. Sadly, I am wondering what the next edition will look like as Puerto Rico rebuilds — Puerto Rico strong!

...We took our third trip to Puerto Rico. This time, there were 9 of us including 4 children and parents and 3 grandparents. We stayed for a week on the east cost, at Punta Santiago. My wife and I (2 of the grandparents) stayed longer and visited some friends in the west central region, south of Aricebo. We usually take a couple of guide books with us and mark places with sticky notes. With the large number of people wanting to go in different directions, we ended up with 4 guide books. The number of sticky notes as well as the condition of the guide book is a good measure of how well we used the book. This time, The Rough Guide and the Moon Handbook were the winners. If you want only one guide book, The Rough Guide would be my choice. Driving directions are clear. Places of interest are quite complete. For example, we wanted to go to Monkey Island and found a great reference with a correct phone number to a ride with a knowledgeable Captain who directed us to an excellent snorkeling location as well as to Monkey Island....In all the places we went to, we found the Rough Guide gave accurate information. Of course, the best idea is to ask locals if there are any other local places to see. This way you get off the standard paths and have fun....While the Rough Guide has maps in it, I wish there were more. There were sometimes details needed that another map would provide. Since we drove, we also had a National Geographic detailed map which got a lot of use. The Rough Guide along with a sturdy map is a highly recommended combo for driving in Puerto Rico.

Gave very detailed information on the sights and where to go. Also the do's and don'ts - smoking etc. Spanish phrases were helpful also. I went through the book before we left and highlighted the things we were interested in and that really helped.

Should be a good resource for my next trip.

I found this guide to be complete and accurate: it lists everything that one may want to see in Puerto-Rico, and the information are accurate. However I think this guide would be better if it provided a rating of the points of interest (e.g. using a one to three or five star rating system) so that one can prioritize what he or she should see when time is limited.Another very minor observation is that while the included maps are good, they don't use the proper symbol for major roads (they use the US style highway symbol whereas the actual roads signs use a pentagonal county road symbol).Consider complementing with DK Eyewitness Travel Top 10.

Handy reference book. Carried it around Puerto Rico with us this past March.

I’ve been a long time fan of Norah’s designs and each one is more lovely than the last. This book is a timeline of designs that have appeared in Vogue Knitting magazines beginning with Summer 1987. Don’t be put off by the dates...these gorgeous patterns are very current and each one lists both the original yarn used (many of which are no longer available) as well as a suitable substitute yarn. For the most part, Norah’s designs are a tad complex but oh so worth the effort. Her cabled patterns are both eye pleasing and unusual.Having said all that, there are only 3 round 4 patterns in this book that I don’t already have in my Library. I was hoping for more new designs but I should have known from the title (and the photo on the cover) that this would be a compilation of previously published patterns.

One of my favourite knitwear designers, this book is a wonderful reflection of Norah Gaughan's interest from her initial designs for 'Vogue' knitting magazine to the present day in cables, shape and interesting structures. There are designs for women and men's garments, and where the original yarns are no longer available, alternatives have been given. The creative impetus behind each garment gives a fascinating insight into the designer's intention, and reprinting the articles from 'Vogue' which accompanied some of the designs gives further information into this amazing designer's inspiration. The instructions are clear, as are the design charts (all designs are worked from charts), and the photographs' clarity show the design details precisely. Gaughan's designs have not dated, with the one which appeared in 1987 as stylish now as it was then. This is not a book for beginners, but unlike many knitting books which have perhaps one or two designs which "take the eye" there are many here to keep knitters who want stylish, eye-catching garments happy (as indeed I will be!) for many projects to come.

I want to knit everything in this book. Pictures show the details. charts have the legend included, so no flipping back and forth. Complex but doable designs. Photos and patterns are together, again no flipping around. This one is a keeper!

As expected, this book is filled with beautiful patterns with exquisite details. The design elements definitely lift them above ordinary patterns. However, they are for the more experienced knitter. If you want to make a timeless garment you can enjoy for years, this is your book

Her designs really do stand the test of time, with some styling tweaks even the older patterns are just as wearable today as they were when initially written.

This book is not for the beginner, but that is what I was looking for. I seldom find anything challenging anymore. I love this book.

I have knitted all my life and am constantly on the lookout for challenging projects. This book met all of my requirements.

I want to knit everything in this book. Nora is an unbelievable designer.

A really good follow up effort from A Beautiful Wreck. This story is about Eona, a woman from the future who wants to meet Ginn and provide more information about this old Nordic time for their time travel endeavors. Eona meets up with Brosa, Heinrik's younger brother, immediately and he takes her to meet Ginn. What Larissa Brown does so well and so beautifully is to write about the time and place to make you feel you are part of the story. All your senses are part of this journey. What makes these stories extra special is how the future and past work together. We learn about the time travel futuristic aspect and that's a birds eye view into the past and how different things are for a modern women. Ginn and Heinrik's love story is further developed in this book and it was nice to read about them again. So Wild A Dream and A Beautiful Wreck are like no other time travel romances I have read. Yes, they have the handsome alpha hero and the witty and vulnerable heroine but the true star of the stories are about the time and place of 10th century Iceland. There is a romance between Brosa and Eona but it is slow blooming and believable. They both are attracted to each other but each have their own issues regarding finding a forever. There is no sex in the story but it is still very sexy and sensual.I found A Beautiful Wreck somehow. It was not advertised on lists or pushed to Time Travel Romance readers. So when I started reading it and finished, I really questioned why books and authors like this aren't more well known. Maybe a hypothetical question but the writing in the 2 books are way above what you would normally read in the genre. Larissa Brown, please write more books!I gave So Wild a Dream just 4 starts instead of 5 not because the story and the writing but because it ended with a cliff hanger and Eona was a bit wishy washy for my taste. It would of been nice to see her know what she wants and go after it like Ginn did in the first book. However, still a great addition to the series.

Just when the book started to pick up Ms. Brown suddenly and without warning ends in the middle of the story. What a ripoff. The book description should warn people that this will be a highly unsatisfying half book, not just "Part 1". And over a year now and where is "Part 2"? It's very annoying to be shut out of a story like this.

I loved Larissa Brown's first book and this one is right there with it. I have not finished it yet ... full dis-closer ... but could hardly put it down to write this. Her research in the lives of the Vikings of Iceland and her ability to bring the characters to life makes this a thrilling read. I hope this series continues for quite a while.

I knew I would regret purchasing this book. The characters I warmed up to in "Beautiful Wreck" have changed a good deal in the two years that have passed since we last saw them. I cannot stomach the person Ginn has become. And lovable Har was pretty much nonexistent. The ending left me so upset because I have to buy another one to find out what happens ,cliffhanger alert ,literally. However, it was much easier to read and understand due to less time spent in the future. Honestly this just didn't do much for me in terms of excitement. I'm going to fight this compulsive need I have to finish this series and try hard not to buy the next one.

Still good but I was disappointed in the short length, it's half the page length of Beautiful Wreck. The story just starts picking up when it ends. I also didn't like main character very much. She had pretty much zero redeeming qualities about her. Brosa is great and well written and was nice to return to Ginn's world and see her character from outside eyes.

I loved BEAUTIFUL WRECK. Read it on a cruise ship surrounded by water so the memory has a particular texture. Continuing the tale brought me back to that lovely time so I had my own time travel experience. This story was as satisfying with very different characters, enough the same to bring me closer and closure, enough different to keep me tapping to the next page. Waiting for the next installment. Ahhh.

I really just loved it. This is my first amazon review - and I've been reading forever. I disagree with a previous reviewer about lead female: she and lead male were both wonderful, but they are different creatures from different times with different experiences which shape how they are drawn narratively. But the best is the setting, and how it is intertwined with the lead characters presentation of their personalities. There is something so evocative, not definable, that makes reading experience transcendent. Please believe me, I don't think I've EVER written the word transcendent about a book (nor is it a quality that I look for), but there was something so...so indescribable... I just loved it.

Very enjoyable read! I can't wait to see what how Brosa and Eðna deal with what they're up against. It took me a bit to get used to the hopping back and forth between Eðna's past and the Viking age. But thinking about how it's written, she's sorting through her past as she's there. My thoughts would be muddled too.If you liked Beautiful Wreck, you'll love this book!

Amazon.com Review

Author and "gay shaman" Christopher Penszack created an outstanding and groundbreaking resource for the gay Wiccan community in this thorough and heartfelt guidebook. Despite the fact that homosexuals often found spiritual nurturance and respect within the Wiccan cultures of the past, modern day practitioners usually avoid any discussion (or even acknowledgement) of gay witchcraft. Thankfully, Penszack not only breaks the silence, he does it with grace, clarity, and enormous integrity. When speaking to spell-casting ethics and the laws of magick, Penszack emphasizes the Wiccan Rede: "We believe in the Rule of Three, meaning all you do comes back to you three-fold, or three times as strong as your original intent," he explains. "As a result, all your intentions, even if directed at someone else, eventually return to you, so keep your intentions with the highest of morals." From this foundation of causing no harm, Penszack gets down to the nitty-gritty of gay witchcraft, such as meditation techniques, animal totems, altar-building, auras, spells, and invocations. His writing stays tasteful yet candid as he delves into the tantra-like section on "Sex Magick" where he suggests spells and activities to encourage connection and healing (including a "soul baring" exercise of massaging and/or licking a partnerÂ’s chakra path and then maintaining eye contact during orgasm). Penszack sprinkled many fascinating facts into this magick manual. For instance, he offers a list of "queer positive deities," including Adonis (often invoked for lesbian love spells) and the Native American/Inuit goddess Sedna (a gynandromorphous creation deity). He also provides an extensive bibliography and list of online resources. --Gail Hudson

From Publishers Weekly

Witchcraft has plenty to offer the homosexual community, according to Penczak (City Magick), a self-proclaimed gay shaman. Not only does it have a strong history of tolerance for homosexuality; it actually has a rich tradition of homosexual involvement and esteem. After finding shame and persecution in the Catholic Church, Penczak fled to the Wicca community, where he found "a sense of belonging... to my own spirit." This is one of the only books on the market that delves into the fascinating historical roots of gay witchcraft while also providing homosexual-specific advice on spells and rituals. One of Penczak's strengths is his broad-reaching wisdom when it comes to love and sexuality. Most of his guidance could be relevant to practitioners of all sexual orientations. What witch isn't interested in knowing a few spells and potions for creating more trusting, loving, passionate and spiritually nurturing relationships? Who wouldn't love to soak in a "healing heart" bath with pinches of lavender, rose petals, catnip and rosemary? Yet Penczak also stays true to his niche-often returning to particular sexual and romantic concerns unique to the gay and lesbian community. It's only when he occasionally gets into anatomically detailed discussions about men loving men (in the tantra sexuality section) that he excludes lesbian readers. Overall, Penczak fulfills his promise-finally offering homosexual readers a sensitive and sexually appropriate manual for the study and practice of witchcraft. I have been practicing the Craft, solitarily and per Coven, for 51 years, in Scotland, UK, and in the USA. I have always felt a "tiny" barrier when with larger groups due to my being a gay male--which I never discussed with anyone, as I didn't really feel it was necessary. I am now practicing solitarily--this book almost brought tears of joy to my eyes when I started reading it. Every time the word "you" was written in the text of the book, it was as though it was mentioning me by name. Not only is this a great, very well written book, it focuses on the things that are important to me and my partner of 23 years. This book isn't strictly for solitary practitioners, as it can be geared to coven practice. I will be using this book in my library of teaching materials. I place it with my other great Craft authors, ie Marian Green, Gemma Gary, Michael Howard, and many of the older British authors, whom we respect and love. The book also discusses performing the regular rituals with all male (or all female) participants, ie moon rituals, etc. I give greatest thanks to the author, Christopher Penczak, for writing this book for "ME".....Bright Blessings now and forever. CB

I am glad to have this book. It is a good introduction to wicca if you already have a background in wicca. I def recommend Cunningham first. What is good about this book though is that 1)it includes a lot of information on gay spirituality in wicca that Cunningham leaves out and 2) it has taken me further through different spiritual practices than Cunningham has

This is the best book I have ever read on Wicca and the key to unlocking this spirituality for me. I have been interested in Wicca and paganism for a long time and just sort of dabbled, but never got too involved. I even had pagan friends and went to pagan events, which were beautiful, but I could never seem to find my own connection. Most of the books I would pick up on paganism just didn't speak to me or seem too interesting, even though I felt Wicca to be closest to my own spiritual nature. I tried Dragon wicca and gothic wicca, and both left me cold. After moving to the Northwest last year, I discovered New Witch magazine at a local bookstore, which I think is a great publication! Ads in that magazine led me to this book, Gay Witchcraft. Christopher Penczak writes in a way that is very enjoyable and conversational as if he is sitting there speaking with you. He takes you through witchcraft in an enjoyable, step by step manner that brings everything together and gradually makes sense as part of the whole. I had always had a bit of misgiving about witchcraft because I had trouble believing there were zillions of deities just out there floating around in the sky somewhere. Now that I've been reading this book, I understand that isn't really what witches believe and have a clear understanding of how it all works. A good friend of mine who is pagan said I would know my path when I found a book that not only "clicked" with me, but that it should cover things like working with energy, grounding oneself, etc. This is the basis for the first part of the book, learning how to work with energy and get oneself in the right energetic state before even attempting to work on more complex things like spells. No wonder so many people are turned off by witchcraft, most books make it sound like you can just light a candle, mumble a few words and your spell will come true. That isn't the case, it takes a lot of focus, energy and hard work, like most things. Although this book is written for gay practitioners and creates a great comfort level for us, I believe it would be a useful book for anyone getting into wicca and wanting to know how it all works and how to put it together. I don't know if it's coincidence, but since I've been working with this book, a lot of things in my life are starting to go the way I want them to. Even things I never thought would happen are happening. And I definitely, finally feel connected to something spiritual, which is giving me newfound inner strength and confidence, I even quit smoking! Thank you, Christopher, thank you, thank you, blessed be!

This is basically a witchcraft/Wicca 101 book with the word gay in the title. If you've read any of the 101 books on the market you've already read this one, in fact this is not one of the most informative or well-written ones out there. As someone who's really into Penczak's stuff it was disappointing, not one of his best for sure.

Excellent and highly recommended. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, as it gives gay men guidance in approaching the world of witchcraft, which from the outside can seem at times very heterosexual and even hostile towards homosexuality. Christopher Penczak is a gifted writer, and he has a very easy to understand writing style. Reading this book has helped me enormously on my personal journey. I would recommend this to any gay man interested in witchcraft or Wicca.

excellent book mostly for men but still interesting to womyn. Arrived quickly in goid condition.

I came to this book useing the search words : Wheel of life. Not being gay or wanting to practice Witchcraft I took a chance on this book. It is informative and written with care. Some of the photos felt a little cold but I would recommmend the book. I have always drawn to Nature and haven't felt at home in Church so I connected to this material. It is important that gays, lesbians, bis. and transgender people teach their stories.
